Welcome to Nurse on a Mission. My name is Heidi G. Bell. I have been a nurse for 8 years and have worked in long-term care, assisted living, plasma, home health, and pediatric private duty nursing. Before becoming a nurse, I fulfilled an apprenticeship in midwifery for six years in Louisiana. I also taught childbirth education, postpartum education and infant care from 2007 to 2017. I love teaching people as education empowers the soul.
In addition to teaching, I've also published several books and continue to bring awareness to the sacredness of caring for elders as a nurse. I teach other nurses and nursing assistants that caregiving is not just physical. We aren't just performing tasks and answering lights. We are walking with elders in sacred moments. This is soul-deep work.
